Dolphin fans rejoyce!  Zach has just signed a contract that will keep him Miami for the next five years!  His contract is worth $22.5 million, making him the second highest paid linebacker in the NFL, yet he still didn't make the Pro Bowl.

Zach Thomas is the leader of the explosive Miami Dolphin defense. As a fifth round choice in 1996, nobody thought that he would not be any good because he was undersized, although he was an All-American at Texas Tech. Miami Dolphins coach Jimmy Johnson took a chance on him because he fit the mold of the defense he was looking for. All he did in his rookie year was lead the team in tackles and was named Defensive Player of the Year for the Dolphins while also being placed on numerous All-Rookie teams.
